Nick Alvarado

Young Adults Director

My name is Nick Alvarado and I have the pleasure of serving on the media team and young adults ministry at Restoration Church. I was born in El Salvador but moved to Homestead when I was 2 and have lived here my whole life. I have seen our city grow from fields and farms to what it is today and with it, an influx of people from all different cultures and social economic backgrounds all with one thing in common, a desperate need to know Jesus.

I began attending this church 2 months after it was launched as Core Community Church where we met at Everglades Prep Academy. At the time I was in a really bad and downward spiral in my life and I remember praying that God lead me to a church where I could really meet Jesus (growing up in a Spanish legalistic system I did not have a personal encounter with Him) I remember my exact prayer was “Lord, I need you. I need to know you are real and have not forgotten me. I need people in my life that will guide me to you. I need a group of friends that are following you and will help me know You.”
Little did I know that I would find more than friends, I found family.

I love people. I love serving and helping others. I enjoy anything that involves being outdoors and exercising but Most of all, I love seeing others come into our church as strangers and become family. I love seeing Gods transformative grace rescue individuals, save marriages and restore souls. It’s an amazing thing to be a part of a church that is not focused on putting on a show or growing in numbers but a church whose leaders and pastors genuinely love and care for you and a church whose primary goal is to help each other follow Jesus.
